I have carried out all the work to fit these parts myself as I am an highly experienced (25 years) classic car restorer and engineer and this is now a fully sorted 993 with all the common issues resolved.

The only thing I have not fixed is the air conditioning. A common problem with 993's it was not high on my list of jobs to be done, but if the car does not sell I will start work on that next. I had it regassed Summer 2010 and it held the charge and functioned for a week so it is not likely to be a major problem.

You can read about the major work I have carried out fixing all the usual 993 problems in the following areas

July 2010 - All four calipers rebuild by ClassiCar in Cheshire - a specialist in rebuilding Brembos. All new seals, caliper life problem sorted, calipers stripped blasted and powder coated in red. Also fitted new Goodrich stainless brake hoses all round.

October 2010 - 993's suffer from leaking valve covers so I did all four (upper and lower) and whilst in there changed all 12 spark plugs for new genuine ones. This is equivalent to the more expensive 24K miles service. I also changed the oil and filters (again using genuine parts). You can read about the valve covers and plugs work here: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=57402&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

October 2010 - the rear chassis legs rust on 993's where the rear wing support braket bolts onto them. This is a well known factory problem and most cars will have this issue as part of the chassis is not painted resulting in rust in the longer time. I have fixed this on my car and you can read about it here: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=57816&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20

As of June 2011 the car had a new windscreen fitted as it was cracked by road debris, and whilst the screen is out I properly resolved the common rust issues around the windscreen apature protecting it with an epoxy rustproofing solution prior to fitting the new windscreen with new genuine seals and teflon tape. You can read about me carrying out this work here: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=64521&highlight=

July 2011 - new starter motor fitted (Genuine new Bosch) and replaced the Tiptronic oil and filter - serviced by R&D Automotive (Ferrari and Porsche specialist) in Manchester.

August 2011 - repainted the rare and desirable marble leather hardbacks with excellent results - you can read about how I did it here: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=66311&highlight=

January 2013 - the car now has 100,400 and has an MOT until September 2013
